Keeping your laminate flooring in good condition for years needs thought and care.
We know how convenient and cost-effective laminate flooring is. However, keeping the planks in a pristine condition is not the same as hardwood flooring. For instance, never use a very wet mop on laminate floors – the moisture can get into the seams and cause swelling, which is both challenging and expensive.
1. Do not use too much water.
The extra water can pool, causing severe damage such as floor bubbling. The laminate can also fade if too much water is used and the water pools.
2. Protect the surface from future damage.
Use additional tricks such as furniture leg pads and cover your floors with beautiful and colourful rugs. The rugs don’t only protect the flooring but also add character to the space.

3. Do not let stains sit on the floor.
If you do not wipe, for instance, food spills off the floor, especially foods that stain easily, such as coffee. Also, acidic liquids such as vinegar and lemon juice stain easily if the liquid is not removed fast from the floor.
4. Use Stain Remover.
If you leave a splash of coffee on the floor for too long, you can try to remove it with flooring stain remover. However, note that the stain may not be removed entirely, and alkaline products such as baking soda or detergent will leave a mark that cannot be removed even with a stain remover.
5. Do not use sharp tools on your flooring.
Avoid scratches on your laminate flooring by using a soft-bristle broom or dust mop instead of steel wool, for instance. Also, instead of trying to scratch the paint off from the flooring with a knife, use alcohol to soften it and wipe it away.
